Property values could benefit from improved commuter transport
Plans to improve commuter rail transport in South Africa’s main cities over the next 10 years could have a positive impact on property values. The Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) is working on a major overhaul of the rail agency's fleet. Expected to cost R170 billion over the next 10 years, Prasa intends developing faster and more reliable trains that are clean, efficient and safe, and to even provide commuters with air conditioning, wi-fi and maybe a free newspaper or coffee.
